Initial Visit

Your first visit to The Center for Ideal Dentistry will begin with a meeting with Dr. Vittitow or Hahn to discuss your expectations and for a comprehensive exam. During the exam we collect data on the state of your mouth. This includes teeth, gums, existing restorations, general oral health, including a cancer screening. We also check to see if your bite is balanced. If it is unbalanced it can put added stress on some of your teeth.

Our goal in this exam is to accurately diagnose any problems or potential problems you may have, and to determine your goals for treatment—whether you need ongoing routine and gentle care or want smile design with aesthetic dentistry.

Most Common Family Procedures

Two factors that most influence the health of your teeth and mouth are bacteria and excessive force. When your mouth is totally cleansable and you maintain proper care, bacteria will no longer be a problem. Excessive force can be caused by clenching or grinding of the teeth, known as bruxism, or by improper bite balance. If you have either of these problems we will work with you to correct them.

We will present you with our findings from the exam data collection and discuss treatment options. With this information you can make an educated decision about the best treatment approach to achieve optimal health. The dental health and smile you desire is achievable.

In a perfect world we would all keep our teeth for life. Unfortunately we live in a world where sugar is abundant, meals are eaten on the run, soda machines are available in all our schools and many people are never taught the importance of good oral care and hygiene. To achieve optimum oral health requires preventive measures and the right treatments to ensure you have a mouth free of disease.
