do you accept delta dental insurance?

Dear Susan,
We accept all insurance but are out of network for “your” benefit.

Please read the following blog entry that describes in detail why, especially in Kentucky, we cannot rely on insurance companies to support our oral health.

Please call Lori at 502-228-4585 with any questions. We are here to help!

Hello,

I am considering removal of my mercury amalgam fillings. I have consulted one dentist, who said she would not take them out unless there was a problem with the filling, as this would lead to more tooth damage.
What is your opinion on this subject? Also, can you recommend a dentist skilled in this area, I live in Amsterdam.

Thank you,

Sarah Allen

Hello Sarah,

Good question. First, my personal opinion is that silver mercury fillings are constantly expanding and contracting 2-3 times as much as your tooth and will eventually crack your tooth. Removal done correctly is safe and effective. I would not have one in my mouth.
You do need to find a dentist that understands this…Amsterdam, although one of my favorite cities is not really an area I am as familiar with, dentally speaking. I can only suggest you contact the IAOMT (http://www.iaomt.org/) (International Academy Of Oral Medicine And Toxicology), they would have a directory of dentists around the world.
You are on the right track! Get out of the dental cycle as soon as you can!

Keep Smiling,

Dr. Chris
