Hello, I am a 22 year old female seeking affordable orthodontic work. My dentists informs me I am in need of core fills, having my wisdom teeth removed, and crowns. He recommends invisalign. He also says that I need to have this work done prior to ortho treatment. My question is, is it possible for me to get invisalign prior to all this work. I just don’t see it being absolutely nescessary for me to have this work prior to ortho treatment. I just want straight teeth and feel as though this work can (crowns etc.) can be put on hold.
Please respond to me. Thank you in advance

    Dear Natasha,
It is difficult to give you a complete answer because obviously I do not know your exact situation. But, here are a few pointers. First of all, if you dentists says you are in need of “core fills and crowns” that means to me that you have active decay. Decay has to be removed before you have braces. If in doubt, I always recommend a second opinion on treatment that you question for both the safety of you and your dentist. Invisalign is a great way to straighten teeth! Depending on your bite, many people keep their wisdom teeth as long as there is no decay.
It may be possible that your dentist is looking at large old failing fillings that may be able to wait until after ortho, and he/she is just giving you the ideal treatment. That is what we are supposed to do! Feel free to ask more questions, sned me x-rays, etc. and I will try to help you out as much as possible.
