    Hello Dr. Hahn,
I had seen you several years ago for a consultation. I have had a lot of dental work in the past which crowns that are definitely less than ideal. One thing (out of many) that I dislike about them is their opaqueness. Is it possible to create crowns that have a translucency that mimics normal teeth? I don’t think this necessarily needs a video response – it is just something I was curious about.
    Thank you,
    Scott Shrout

    Hello Scott,

Opaque crowns look bad and are a sign of an “average” dental technician. The cost of a great dental technician/artist is usually prohibitive to dentists if they are submissive to insurance companies, especially here in Louisville.
That being said, there are incredibly talented dental technicians out there that can make crowns look exactly like real teeth. I invite you to view this facebook post:

In this post I demonstrate the most challenging dental crown anyone can make – a single front tooth. This is my technician with whom I have written a book on “Natural, Beautiful Cosmetic Dentistry”. A technician like this can make your crowns look so real a dentist would not be able to tell that they are porcelain.
So, when you are ready Scott, let’s have another consult and see what we can do for you 🙂

    Keep Smiling,

    Dr. Chris

    Hello,
I am not seeing the link to the Facebook post mentioned in your message. I was hoping you could post that. I think I will come speak with you again in the near future- I enjoyed our last conversation.

    Sincerely,
    Scott
